Product Specification
• As-welded hardness: 41–47 RC.
• High toughness with good machinability.
• Secondary hardening capability through tempering.
• Excellent resistance to thermal shock and heat cracking.
• Low carbon, high alloy steel composition.
• Alloying elements: Chromium, Molybdenum,
Vanadium (for wear, toughness, and hot strength).
• Designed for secondary hardening with tempering.
• Remove fatigued/work-hardened material by gouging or grinding.
• Preheat base metal to 200–300 °C depending on die size/thickness.
• Use stringer beads, short arc, limited weave (≤3×electrode dia).
• For hardness control (38–45 RC), temper at 600–650 °C.
• Double tempering recommended; soak 1 hr per 20 mm section.
• Building large composite dies.
• Repair of steel industry dies.
• Chemical, cryogenic, and nuclear industry die repairs.
