CI 55

Nickel alloy flux-cored wire for highstrength, crack-resistant welding of all cast irons.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

CI 55 is a nickel alloy flux-cored wire designed for high-strength welding of nodular iron. This advanced alloy provides superior weld joints in grey, malleable, nodular (SG Iron), and alloy
cast irons such as Ni-resists. It offers exceptional crack resistance, excellent weldability, and good machinability.

Product Specification

• High-strength nickel alloy formulation
• Exceptional crack resistance
• Excellent weldability and machinability
• Superior performance on contaminated surfaces
• Works without a buffer layer

• Nickel-rich alloy with elements enhancing strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance in cast iron welds.

• Thoroughly clean the weld area and remove all oil and grease before starting.
• Preheating is not necessary, but heavy and complex sections should be preheated to 100°C – 200°C.

• Machine beds, pump casings, valve bodies, valve flanges, bell housings, motor covers, friction press discs, and repair of contaminated cast iron surfaces.

• Use short-length weld beads (up to 50 mm).
• Peen the weld deposits while hot to reduce stresses.
• Post-Welding: Allow slow cooling after welding using insulating materials such as vermiculite or heat-retardant blankets.
