The prestigious ‘India SME 100 Awards’ was bestowed on Diffusion Engineers Limited (DEL) by Union transport and MSME minister Nitin Gadkari at a programme held at New Delhi recently. The programme was organized by the Union ministry of MSME.
Prashant Garg, director of the company, received the award. Diffusion Engineers is the only company from Nagpur to have been selected and is one from 20 winners from Maharashtra who have done well in MSME across industry sectors.
As many as 34,011 nominations were received from all over India of which 100 SMEs were chosen by a panel of juries in which DEL emerged as a winner. Co-founded in 1982 by NK Garg, current chairman and managing director, DEL made rapid strides and pioneered the concept of super conditioning in India which enhances the life of worn-out equipment and components.
The jury comprised Prahlad Kakar, advertising and branding guru, JS Juneja, former chairman and CEO of National Small Industries Corporation, Sunil Alagh, former MD and CEO, Britannia and Ajay Thakur, head, BSE SME, besides others.
Nominees were evaluated on the basis of both, financial and non-financial indicators. The financial indicators included growth performance and strength while non-financial indicators covered innovation, international outlook, people capital and corporate governance.
DEL offers a wide range of Lo Temp and anti-wear alloys and services to suit the reclamation needs of industries like cement, power, sugar, mining, railways, steel and shipping. The company, which has four manufacturing units in the city, exports its products and services to more than 20 countries.
